Attestation of Documents
1. Power of Attorney/Affidavit/Authority Letters
Attestation of documents such as a Power of Attorney/Authority Letter/Affidavit is required to be signed by the executant in front of the High Commission’s Consular Officer.
Requirements:
1.   Proof of ownership of the property of executant (Fard Malkiat, Registration deed, Inheritance Certificate) for which Power of Attorney is being executed.
2.     Two sets of Power of Attorney/Affidavit documents to be attested.

3.  Executant’s Original Pakistani/Australian Passport along with its copy.
4.  Executant’s Original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) along with its copy.
5.  Three recent passport size photographs (one photograph need to be affixed on the Power of Attorney next to place of signature).
6.   If the witnesses are mentioned on the Power of Attorney Document than copies of their CNIC/NICOP should be provided and witnesses should sign on the POA document.
All documents issued from Pakistan must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad or by any Foreign Ministry Camp office located in provincial Capitals.
Fee:
Processing fee is A$ 20.00 per document or per executant whichever is more.

Modes of Payment:

  • In case of High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra, Postal Money Order / Certified Bank Cheque / Bank Draft in favor of “High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra” OR through EFTPOS.
  • Additional surcharge will be applicable in case of payment through EFTPOS as per List

2. Attestation of Other Documents:

Following are requirements of other documents where personal presence is not mandatory:

Requirements:

1.  Original Document
2.  Application Form for Attestation
3.   Applicant’s copy of Passport attested by Justice of Peace (JP) or any Police Station.
4.  Applicant’s copy of CNIC/NICOP attested by Justice of Peace (JP) or any Police Station.
5.  Processing fee in the form of Postal Money Order or Bank Cheque A$20.00
6.  Self-Addressed Express or Registered Post Envelop for the return of the document.

Mode of Payment:

  • In case of High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra, Postal Money Order / Certified Bank Cheque / Bank Draft in favor of “High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra” OR through EFTPOS.
  • Additional surcharge will be applicable in case of payment through EFTPOS as per List.
Important Notes:
  • All documents issued by the Australian entities to be first notarized/attested by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT).
  • All documents issued by the entities or the Government of Pakistan to be first notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad or its four camp offices in the provincial capitals.
  • The deadline for registration of Power of Attorney in Pakistan, attested by the High Commission is four months.
  • Cash is not accepted for payment of fees.
  • Consular fees once deposited are not refundable even if High Commission refuses consular/attestation services.
  • In case of all documents, and in certain cases, Consular Officer may require personal presence of executant for signatures and thumb impressions.

Non-Attestable Documents:

  1. Identity Cards and their translation.
  2. Criminal Judgments/FIRs.
  3. Political/Criminal Disputes
  4. Domicile.
  5. Photographs.
  6. Invitation letters/Visa Notes.
  7. Insurance papers.
  8. Charity documents of NGO’s
  9. Papers of registry and sale/purchase of land etc
  10. “Will” regarding disposal of property or estate.
  11. IELTS/TOEFEL certificates, ISO standardization and all international certificates
  12. Applications of all kinds.
  13. Reference letters from professors etc. both from abroad as well as Pakistani educational institutions.
  14. Character Certificates of Educational Institutions
  15. Divorce Papers.
  16. “Compromise” (Razi Nama)
